Breastplate 1550-60
Breastplate. Rough from the hammer. Of long waisted form with a single articulated lame at the waist. Sliding gussets at each arm. Heavily roped rolls at the neck and arms. Single fauld lame. Upper breast decorated with a pair of volutes. Pierced with two holes for a lance rest. Buckles at the shoulder replaced with well matched modern copies. Tasset leathers replaced, mounted with nice rosette washers. Displayed as part of item number A-1.
Measurements: Thickness: varies significantly. Generally .075"-.08" in the center but there are small areas that are up to .10" sides generally about .060" lower lame .055" gusset .040"-.045".
